Product Description:
Each tablet contains baclofen 10 mg.
Baclofen is indicated for the relief of spasticity of voluntary muscle resulting from such disorders as multiple sclerosis, other spinal lesions e.g. tumours of the spinal cord, syringomyelia, motor neurone disease, transverse myelitis, traumatic partial section of the cord.
Baclofen is also indicated in adults and children for the relief of spasticity of voluntary muscle arising from e.g. cerebrovascular accidents, cerebral palsy, meningitis, traumatic head injury.
Dosage:
Treatment should be initiated with small doses of Baclocalm, then gradually increased. It is recommended that the lowest effective dose be used.
Adults
Treatment should be started with a dosage of 5mg three times daily, given in 3 divided doses, then gradually increased. 30-80 mg per day is considered the standard daily dose, but 100 to 120 mg/day may be given in isolated cases.
Children and adolescent
The minimum age for treatment is 12 months. Treatment usually starts with very low amount e.g 0.3 mg/kg/day, given in 4 divided doses. The dosage should be cautiously raised at intervals of about 1-2 week, until it becomes sufficient for the individual patient's requirements.
